ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM

We continue our series of Symposia held in conjunction with the Simone Young/SSO Ring performances.The symposium will feature papers presented by:– Dr Peter Bassett (Wagner’s Siegfried and the Power of Nature)– Livia Brash (on Brünnhilde)– Professor Carole Cusack (Siegfried the Failed Hero, Brünnhilde the Redeemer of the World) and – Dr David Larkin (The hero’s (changing) journey: Wagner’s stylistic evolution in Siegfried), all giving us an insight into the third music drama of Der Ring des Nibelungen.

Our fifth speaker will be Daniel Linton-France who has been assisting Maestro Simone Young AM at Bayreuth and will be assisting in Sydney. The WSNSW is sponsoring the Assistant Conductor role for the SSO.
